The cassette as an object of oral literature, the cassette as a sculpture that housed possibility, the cassette as a capsule of film and music - more than just a retro memory, this event seeks to ask questions with strange answers about the idea of a nearly lost technology. Bringing together poets, writers, musicians and performers, each responding to the theme in ambiguous and experimental ways, this event reaffirms the pleasure of a spool and a click. As part of the event, two new cassettes with be launched by 8OX press - a repository for the poem-objects, Stephen Emmerson’s ‘Music for Meditation’ and SJ Fowler’s ‘Bab’s London Adventures : Talk Poems.’
