Writers Kingston event #45
Poem Brut and Writing Cultures
November Tuesday 9th 2021
Town House Building : Courtyard Venue

With book launches from Chris Kerr, Patrick Cosgrove, Martin Wakefield and new performance readings from Saradha Soobrayen, Kayleigh Cassidy, Bob Bright, Jacqueline Ennis Cole, Michael Sutton, Vicki Kaye

Writers Kingston returned for it’s fifth year of events with an evening exploring literature and the mind, in the beautiful environs of the Town House building’s Courtyard venue. The event is part of the KSA Writing Cultures Research Group Seminar Series on Para-ability and writing exploring neurodiversity and mental health. It also engages with the Poem Brut project which celebrates artistic creative writing and its relationship with neurobiology - embracing text and colour, space and time, handwriting, composition, abstraction, illustration, sound, mess and motion - affirming the possibilities of the page, the pen, the process, the performance and the voice in a computer age.

This event was also a collaboration with Hesterglock Press, featuring book launches by Chris Kerr, Patrick Cosgrove and Martin
